Behavioural Consultations
Behavioural Consultations
A consultation can be arranged for dogs who are having a specific behavioural problem in the home environment. Behaviours such as resource guarding, barking, destructive behaviour, sibling rivalry problems (depending on severity) , excessive pulling on walks, barking at other dogs on walks, or teaching your dog to be calm indoors are examples of behaviours that would suit a behavioural consultation

These consultations are usually 1 - 1 ½ hours in duration, depending on the problems presented. The consultation includes taking a thorough history of the dog and its behaviour, discussing why the behaviours may be occurring and giving advice on how the behaviours may be managed. General behavioural problem notes are given at the time of the consultation if appropriate, and then a behaviour modification program is designed and sent to the owner within a few days of the consultations. A follow up session of 30 - 45 minutes will be organised for 2 weeks after the initial visit to see how the strategies are being put into place and to help with any further issues.

Individual behavioural consultations can be arranged by appointment and are available for clients living in and around Cooma, Berridale, Jindabyne and Nimmitabel. For costs and queries of areas serviced please call or email.

Please note: Any aggression problems will be referred on to a Veterinary Behavioural Consultant. If you are having any aggression problems with your dog, please feel free to call and I will put you in touch with the closest Veterinary Behavioural Consultant
